The Haggerty School Turns 100 this Year! Don't Miss the Fun!
This year we are celebrating our birthday with a variety of activities. One project will be creating an oral history! Did you go to the Haggerty School? Students in grades 3-5 are interviewing Haggerty alum for our 100th birthday celebration. If you are a Haggerty alum and would like to be interviewed, please contact our Librarian, Sarah Novogrodsky. Music

Kindergarten and first grade parents
Look for Ask Me! sheets in your child’s folder! Ask them to practice their songs for you. Maybe you remember one of them from your childhood.

Second grade families
SnailSecond graders have just learned about 2/4 meter - we call it “two-heartbeat meter” at this point. They’ve learned that you can find a bar line before the strong sound in a measure. They’re learning how to use measure lines and count measures in a song. Ask students all the information they can tell you about the following example from the song Wallflowers.

Music Notes

Haggerty Chorus families
We’re learning a set of spirituals. One of our favorites is Swing Low, Sweet Chariot. You can hear a recording by the Plantation Singers here.

Author Visit!
Emily Arnold McCully, Caldecott winner for Mirette on the High Wire, will visit with 2nd and 3rd graders on April 7th. We will read as many of her books in the library, however, you are encouraged to use the public library to stock up on her wonderful books!

Winter CLothes

Winter Clothing Exchange
Ongoing in Main Lobby
We have been very lucky to be having a mild winter so far, but we aren't out of the woods yet!

If you have winter outerwear (coat, boots, gloves, or hats) that your children have grown out of, please drop them off in main lobby. Or maybe you need the next size?

Come and see if there is something that works for your family! Boots seem to be in the most demand for kids, and we don't have any out there right now - just in case you have been meaning to clean out your own winter boot collection.

Thanks for you help! It really is just a take one leave one, or just leave one, or just take one - clothing exchange!
