Mrs. Turk's birthday!

A Special Birthday!
On this very brisk Tuesday morning, students from room 279 bundled up in their hats, mittens, and boots and headed out the door to visit their friend Mrs. Turk at the Sancta Maria Nursing Facility on Concord Ave. She was celebrating her 98th birthday! It was a cold walk, but the students were greeted with warm smiles from Mrs. Turk and staff at the nursing facility. Students, staff, and old friends enjoyed spending time with their special friend and wishing her a Happy Birthday!

Dance in the Schools
Room 209 has been participating in the Dancing in the Schools' Program. Dancing in the Schools provides the children with exposure to a multi-cultural dance curriculum, through participating in teacher-led group dances with accompanying, lively music. This program is also great because the children are team building and collaborating by learning the group dances. The history of each dance is told in a story telling fashion, to help children make connections and remember specific moves. I have so enjoyed this wonderful program, dancing with the children and watching them laugh, smile, move and learn.
