The Science Project
By Viv and Nina
This March and April, the students of room 216 have been researching a science topic and answering questions about various topics. The students put all their hard work into the project of their choice. The topics were constellations, seasons, the moon, the sun. Rotation and axis of earth, tides, day, night and shadows. The students chose various ways to present their work. They used trifolds, posters, a diorama, and a slide show. The students in room 216 have put a lot of effort into researching, making, and presenting their projects and teaching others about what they learned while doing the research.

Spring Tea
Last week room 282 held their Annual Springtime Tea. All the students help to plan, bake and set up for the special day. Each child was able to invite one family member to the Spring Tea. As you can see, some of the students invited their older sibling! Everyone had a grand time!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.

FREE FAMILY
FUN EVENT!

Friends of Tobin
Saturday, May 21 | 3-5PM
Bring the family and enjoy...a bouncy house, hamburgers, hotdogs, veggie burgers, face painting, and lots more!

NOTE FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE
It’s lovely to see the trees and flowers blooming again, but their arrival brings pollen and seasonal allergies. Some kids are especially sensitive to the pollen, and the symptoms can distract them from their school work. The health office cannot supply allergy medications (antihistamines, eye drops, nasal sprays). If your child needs medication for his or her allergies, make sure that you give the medication before s/he leaves for school. These medications work best when given regularly. Please do not give your child Benadryl to relieve allergy discomfort. If your child feels especially uncomfortable, talk with your doctor or nurse practitioner about the best way to treat allergy discomfort.

SAVE THOSE BOOKS!
Time to clean off the book shelves and bring those children's books your children have outgrown to the office. The books will be distributed to the students for summer reading!

LAST CALL: LOST & FOUND / COAT EXCHANGE
