Rosie Rios Visits Haggerty!
On Friday, May 20th Rosie Rios, the current US Treasurer of the United States came to visit the Haggerty School! It was an incredible honor to have Rosie speak to our 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade students about the exciting development of women gracing the US paper currency in 2020. Haggerty students have done their own work around this issue, voting on who should be on the currency and studying the issue. One of our students even wrote a letter to the President a few years ago, and he read her letter at a press conference in the Rose Garden! It was beyond exciting to hear directly from Treasurer Rios about this historic change! The visit will be memorialized in the 5th graders Legacy Project!
