The Place to Be!
Last week, Honey Pot Farms was the place to be. The sun was shining, and it was a perfect day for apple picking! Students from rooms 282, 288, 284, and 204 hopped on the buses and off they went for a fun-filled day of picking apples, enjoying apple cider donuts, and picking out pumpkins to bring home!
A Super Day with Dr. Salim!
Dr. Salim, our new Superintendent, came to Tobin this week. He spent the entire day with us – visiting classrooms and talking to staff. He even enjoyed a school lunch! Thank you to Dr. Salim for spending the day with us!
Welcome Breakfast
Room 283 Welcome Families Breakfast was a big success! We would like to thank our room parents, Taraneh, Kabir's Mom, Aleksandra, Aurora's Mom, and Alina, Henry's Mom, for organizing classroom potluck.
Presenting Prepositions
Prahlad Bellach, a former Kindergarten student in Room 283, visited his classroom and worked with many friends. Here he is presenting a lesson on prepositions to Mockles and Nabeel.
Language Days
Each Friday, we celebrate Language Day. So far, we have heard the Tobin School Pledge in Hindi, Tamil, Spanish, and Korean!
Light Unit
Children in Room 287 are learning about the importance of the Sun in their everyday lives. To seek answers to some of the questions they had, we began various experiments with light such as forming shadows, making rainbows, sundials, etc. They are making careful observations of their environment and drawing conclusions from it.
Vegetable Soup
A huge thank you to Nico's mom who came to the school this week to help the children in room 286 make vegetable soup. Everyone had a turn cutting up the potatoes, carrots, celery and all the other yummy ingredients that made the soup so delicious!
Skeletal System
In biology, we started learning about living and non-living things and how some living things have bones while others do not. In these photos, you will see children studying various bones and drawing diagrams.
