Presidential Performance
Students in Room 279 have been learning about the requirements and job of being a president. Children also wrote letters to the American people expressing what they would do if they were president. Finally, they performed a Presidential Skit to the delight of many parents and staff members. They replicated a United States symbol by drawing in a computer program called "Tux Paint." These images were transferred to a t-shirt that they wore proudly during the performance. A great time was had by all at this special gathering.

Lifecycle of a Pumpkin
The children in room 284 are learning about the lifecycle of pumpkin. The pumpkin plant in the Tobin Garden helped them understand that it grows on a vine. They sketched pumpkins by noticing minute details of a pumpkin. They guessed the weight of each pumpkin and if one pumpkin was heavier or lighter than another pumpkin. They measured and counted the number of ridges in the pumpkin. Finally they guessed the number of seeds in the pumpkin. Caroline, Besseggens’s mom, volunteered to carve a pumpkin with the children.
