Ourselves and Our Families
In second grade we are working on the 'Ourselves and Our Families' unit in social studies. Each child created a self portrait, family portrait and will be creating a timeline of their own lives. This timeline will include photographs, illustrations and facts about themselves from birth to present time. Such an exciting time in second grade!
All About You
Grade 5 Olá students have been working on a biography project where they conducted an interview, wrote a biography, and created a digital poster about their subject - all of this in Portuguese. We celebrated with a breakfast on Wednesday where students presented their work to families and honored guests.
Fables
The 3/4 OLÁ classes have been learning about fables in Portuguese. We learned that fables have animals as main characters, the animals act like humans, and that there is a moral to each fable. We typed and illustrated our fables and the parents got to read our books at our Parent Breakfast on Thursday this week.
Message from Ms. B & Mr. E
Parents, please send kids with sneakers to wear on PE days. 4th graders will begin the swimming unit this week. Every Friday, for 8 weeks students travel by bus to the high school pool from 9:30 to 11AM. 5th grade will be starting ballroom dance in January.
Have you signed a Media Release Yet?
Parents, we love to take pictures of the students and display their work in the hallways, at assemblies, in the newsletter and on our school web page. Sadly we cannot do this if you have not signed a media release for your child. We have two types of releases, please see your child’s teacher or Brenda in the main office for more information.
