Nutcracker Adventure!
Our school was very fortunate to attend the Jose Mateo Nutcracker ballet this year at the Strand Theatre. The performance was attended by nine classrooms from Tobin Montessori, along with our special guest Fred Fantini, dean of the School Committee. Children and adults were delighted with the scampering mice and beautiful costumes. A wonderful time was had by all.

Family Outreach Council (F.O.C.)
At December's Family Outreach Council on December 15th, we enjoyed a lively exploration of how to best share the wealth of information that Tobin offers with families who cannot attend the informative meetings and events. It is agreed that the Tobin Weekly (which you are reading now) and the Tobin Website are among the best ways. Therefore, please check out the smooth-and-easy minutes (http://bit.ly/2hgxawZ) generously captured by Mr. Huber at this month's meeting, and the F.O.C. section (http://bit.ly/2dpcwbt) in general. Then stay tuned for postings of some of the AMAZING Social-Emotional Learning content which Jaime Frost and her leadership team have generated so far this year! Folktales
We studied the gingerbread man folktales and made gingerbread houses in room 286.
Hanukkah
Caleb Schachter's mom, Anna, visited room 284 to talk about Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. She showed a Menorah and explained what the candles represent. She read the book "Caleb' s Hanukkah" to the children. The children played dreidel, and at the end children tasted latkes with apple sauce.
