Around the World Learning!
On January 13th, 5th graders in Casey’s class Skyped with author, Maris Wicks who is in Antarctica doing science research for her next book!

You are invited to join the MLK Chorus!
All students, families, and teachers are invited to participate. Our first meeting was held on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 8 - 8:30AM in the Gym. Ada Riggins and Kim Sneed Johnson will be directing. We will sing civil rights songs in preparation for our MLK Assembly, scheduled for Friday, February 17, 2017 at 9:15AM. Please join us every Friday until the event. 

Flashlights

Building & Learning
The 4th grade OLÁ went to the Edgerton Center at MIT last Monday for a workshop on electricity. We each built a flashlight from scratch! We even soldered our own wires and decorated the flashlights.

Layering Liquids

Close Examination
Students in room 107 carefully observing as they layer liquids in a science experiment.

The 5th graders will be planning and building a hydroponic system this week. It is part of the Science curriculum on Living Things we are piloting this year.
