Project 351

Project 351
Ih San Ellis (Gr. 8)

On January 14th, I participated in an event with Project 351 as an ambassador. On that day 351 eighth graders from over 200 hundred different cities in Massachusetts came together to make an impact on people. When my bus arrived at Faneuil Hall, I didn't know what to expect. But when we got there the alumni ambassadors welcomed us in. We left Faneuil Hall going our separate ways, my group going to Pine Street Inn, a home for the homeless. The workers at Pine Street assigned us each a task. My task was to bake 200 hundred apple pies. When I heard this I thought it was impossible. How could a group of 20 make 200 pies? Even though at the end of the we were only able to make 43 pies with the help of governor Charlie Baker we were able to give the people in need something to look forward to. All 351 of us were able to take home a different experience, but with the same concept we must unite together, act together and the community and lead each other to help each other.
