Message from Manuel J. Fernandez
Today we launched a new initiative; scholar-led conferences. Our scholars and advisors have been preparing for several weeks for this important development in our reporting protocol. I look forward to hearing from you on the helpfulness of this initiative. Scholar-led conferences are scheduled for Feb. 7, 9, 14, and 16th. If you have not signed up for a conference please contact your child’s primary advisor to schedule one soon. Read on >>
Message from the Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth Salim
Recent events at the national level have contributed to an atmosphere of uncertainty and generated a number of questions for many in our community - in particular, for our immigrant families and staff. I want to take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to educating, supporting, and welcoming all students and families in Cambridge Public Schools. By law, all students are guaranteed equal access to school regardless of their or their families’ immigration status. The resources on the following page may be helpful to families and staff who have questions and concerns related to your immigration status. View resources and translations >>
Curriculum Update
The ELA Team is excited to share our mid-year progress with implementation of the new EL Curriculum. All grades: 6, 7, and 8, are in the final stages of completing Module One. We would like to highlight some of the accomplishments of our scholars, who have tackled challenging, nuanced work with the guidance of their ELA teachers and Special Educators. As you review your child’s assignments and prepare for a Scholar-led conference, be sure to review some of these ELA pieces. Read more >>
