Tobin Book Fair
Mark your calendars for March 6-10th for the Tobin/VLUS Book Fair.
Book Fair Hours:
Mon. 2-4PM
Tues. 7:30AM-4PM
Weds. 7:30AM-7:30PM
Thurs. 7:30AM-4PM
Fri. 7:30-11AM
Volunteers Needed!
Volunteering for the book fair is a blast! You get to help kids discover great books, see lots of other families as they come in to look for books and help support the Tobin Library. Please consider signing up for a volunteer shift before and after school or even during school. Tobin Book Fair Sign-Up Genius: http://bit.ly/2lx255P.
Can't do a whole shift? No problem, sign-up during the time you can come and note the times you will available to be there and we'll take care of the rest.
Students Lend a Hand
Emi and Maggie, the Upper Elementary students and Room 283 graduates, returned to their former classroom to work with the students. Both Emi and Maggie guided children during the Writer's Workshop, presented math lessons, and assisted the teachers. Room 283 students and teachers look forward to seeing Emi and Maggie in the classroom.
African Drumming
Xavier and his grandfather John play the African drums as part of our unit in Africa in Room 286.
Can You Help Us Compost?
Did you know that we compost here at the Tobin?
Did you know we really need some help in the cafeteria from 11AM-12PM to help the students compost their lunch leftovers?
Did you know you can come in one day or five days? Did you know we will be happy to show you how to help the children?
Did you know if we do not follow the "composting rules" we will be eliminated from the program? (We have already been put on notice that our composting is contaminated!)
Did you know that all you have to do is sign up for a day or two and we will be back on track!
