FMA Courageous Conversations
Please join us for our second Courageous Conversations workshop on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 from 5 to 7PM. In our first workshop, we focused on how the ‘care’ gets used uncritically in educational settings and how we need to think about whether students are getting the ‘right’ kind of care for their needs or not. In the second workshop, we will develop these understandings through more facilitated conversation about race and equity at FMA. This workshop will be led by Dr. Mariam Durrani, an anthropologist at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and the mother of an FMA second grader. Child care will be provided. Please email us to confirm.

FMA Concert
Please come to the FMA Spring Concert for all students in Grades PK-5 on Friday, June 9th at 8:30AM. This event will directly follow the PTO meeting scheduled for 7:45AM that day. We would like to ask that if possible, families and friends who are attending the Spring Concert stay for the entire concert. There will be a special all school song at the end of the concert. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Ice Skating

Room 101 Ice Skating
The junior kindergarten students in Room 101 learned to ice skate! Through the generosity of Bobby Goodwin of the Cambridge Recreation Department, the class has been skating at the Simoni Skating Rink during the winter season. Bobby, an experienced skater and instructor, guided the students from beginning skaters to confident skaters who glided around the rink with enthusiasm and ease. Room 101 wants to thank Bobby for the fun and excitement his skating adventures provided.
