Louise's mom came by a couple of weeks ago and made yummy apple pie with the children in room 286! The school smelled amazing while the pie was baking!

Have you ever been to Thompson Island? It is one of the many island that are located in the Boston Harbor. At Thompson Island I had two roommates, named Kaleb and Yaseen. We named our group “The Islanders”. We were there for three days. We had two breakfasts, three lunches, and two dinners. The food was great!

Cultural Night
Hello Parents!
Cultural Night is a big event every year at Tobin. This year it falls on Wednesday, Nov. 8th. The giant pot luck is amazing, but the Activity Tables are really where it's at! If you are interested in running and Activity Table, which might include showing traditional dress, teaching a craft from the culture, photos, teaching a song, sharing a treat, or any other cultural gem you can share, please let me ([email protected]) or Mary Frawley know! You don't have to be from the country or even have heritage there; your interest and love of sharing is enough!

Special Guest
Lela's Mom Yin was a special guest in Room 283. Yin told the children about the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, a grand holiday that is celebrated in the middle of the autumn season. She read a book by Grace Lin and shared delicious moon cakes with the children. Thank you, Yin!
Cubs Corner
Do you have a child who attends Cubs Corner? If so, we would like to invite to stop by room 129 on Tuesday, October 17th at 8AM. 3-Year-Old Sibling Registration Time!
Last Call! Mary will accept sibling applications until next Friday, October 19th.
Do you have a child at home who will be 3 years old by August 31, 2018? If so, you need to register your child during the month of October. Mary Frawley will be happy to take the sibling registration forms for you through October 19th. Stop by the office for an application or you can download one online.
