Line Personality Drawings!
Upper Elementary artists learned about how line quality and color choices can change the mood of an artwork. First we created a variety of lines and discussed how they might convey an emotion or feeling, then artists were encouraged to make their own intuitive color schemes. We observed how slight changes in line shape or color choice changes the way we feel when we look at the artwork. Come stop by and see our rotating display outside the Art Studio, room 225!
Halloween Info
Please do not send your child to school with their Halloween Costume on. The school does not celebrate the holiday, BUT Community Schools has an amazing party after school that you are all invited to! See info about the party >>
Apple Picking
Last week, room 282 hopped on the school bus and headed to "Honey Pot Orchards" in Stow. The first thing we did when we got there was get on a "tractor hay ride" and headed out to where we were going to pick the most delicious apples! After we picked the apples and put them in our own special bags, we got back on the hay ride – and when we got off the hay ride we got to see some chickens, goats and pigs! We ended the day by enjoying cider donuts and apple cider and when we were finished we each got to pick out a pumpkin! Thank you Miss Megan and Miss Alissa for planning a great trip!

Winter Jacket Donation
November 13th - December 15th
Want to donate a winter jacket? We will be collecting kids size coats for Coats For Kids sponsored by Anton's Cleaners and Jordan's Furniture. Last year we were able to donate more than 50 jackets! Let's see if we can top that this year!
Multi-Cultural Night
International Night, renamed Multi-Cultural Night, is coming soon (Wed., Nov. 8) and we're looking forward to putting together another year of fantastic Activity Tables. Last year was absolutely amazing. So many Tobin parents and teachers commented positively on the number of volunteers manning Activity Tables and how moving it was to see such diverse cultures proudly shared.

Family Flu Clinic

The Cambridge Public Health Department is offering flu shots to people who live and work in Cambridge. While there is no charge for flu shots, people are encouraged to bring their health insurance cards with them. FluMist and high-dose vaccine are NOT available at the clinics.
