Greetings from the Family Liaison

It has been so nice getting to know everyone in the past few months! I feel like I have met many of you through our volunteer opportunities, the Markets, Back To School Night, and the Halloween party. We have many more great opportunities coming up - we have a Book Fair, November 17th Movie Night, our annual pre-Thanksgiving “Turkey Trot”, parent support groups, and we have Parent/Teacher conferences next month. Please keep an eye out for more information on all of these events!

Take care,

Nancy Wyse

Talk It Out
Rolanda Prophete, School Adjustment Counselor, and Nancy Wyse, Family Liaison, will be co-facilitating a monthly drop-in discussion group for families. It is an opportunity to share ideas, successes, challenges, and insights with other caregivers. We will rotate between morning and evening times and you can come to either or both. A light meal will be served and childcare will be available for the evening session. The first two will be Tuesday 11/14/17 from 8 - 9AM and Tuesday, 12/12/17 from 6 - 7:30PM. If you have questions: email us or 617.349.4865. Please let us know if you’re interested!

Did you know?
If you have a child in JK-5th grade at Kennedy-Longfellow you can register a Kindergarten eligible sibling at the school! Keep an eye out for a “Sibling Finder” form coming home at the end of this month or beginning of December. You can make an appointment to complete all the paperwork with Nancy Wyse, Family Liaison.

Afternoon Transportation
Please remember that if you need to change your child’s afternoon transportation please alert the teacher in writing. If something comes up during the day, you must call the main office (617.349.6841) by 12:30PM. The afternoons are very busy here and we cannot guarantee that the message will make it to the student after this time.

Book Fair
We will be having a book fair on Nov 13 - 16! We will be hosting it together with CSUS in the library.

One feature of this fair is that you can order books online! Simply place your order online and pick them up on Nov 16.

Another feature is that we will ask teachers to create wish lists, so you can purchase books for your child's classroom if you wish.

Dinos
