Dear Parents and Caregivers,
SCHOOL SITE COUNCILS
Please join caregivers and educators from Cambridgeport, Fletcher Maynard Academy, King Open School, and CSUS tomorrow night from 6 - 7:30PM at King Open for the first of several joint meetings this year. The agenda will include 5th grade transition planning to middle school and collaborative activities among all four schools. We need your insights and your voice; we hope you can join us!
BOOK FAIR
The CSUS / K-Lo Book Fair is open Nov. 14- 16. Encourage your child to visit the library over the next 3 days to browse and shop each day before school until 3:15PM today and tomorrow. You can also make a purchase online. The book fair will also be selling pencils, notebooks, and more! Contact Ms. Connolly if you have any questions!
MCAS SCORES, PROGRESS REPORTS, AND SCHOLAR REFLECTION
This week you should receive your child’s first quarter progress report and the 2017 MCAS scores. If you have any questions or concerns about the progress report, please contact your child’s teacher. If you do not receive the MCAS scores by Friday, please feel free to contact Ms. Robinson at 617.349.3050. Over the next two weeks all scholars will meet with an advisor to review their progress report and reflect on how the progress report aligns with the September goals that each scholar set for success. The reflection process will use the “Challenge the Opportunity Gap” resource as the primary guideline. (See attached) We view this refection process as good preparation for the Scholar-Led conferences that will occur in the near future. Dates for conferences will be shared soon.

America Recycles Day: November 15th
Last school year CPS recycled 353 tons of empty containers, paper, and cardboard! All Cambridge schools compost! Since the program started in 2009, over 440 tons of food scraps and dirty papers were kept from the trash! Over 440 tons of food and dirty paper composted at CPS since 2009!
