Physical Education Corner
A central focus of Physical Education at the Haggerty School is cooperation and belonging. With the exception of 4th and 5th graders, who are scheduled for swimming and cycling, students are in the midst of cooperative games units. Cooperative games emphasize participation, challenge, and fun rather than defeating someone. Cooperative games help children to understand that at the Haggerty School everyone belongs and is an important member of our community.

Halloween Reminder
As many new families have joined us, some have asked if we celebrate Halloween during the school day. We wanted to let you know that we do not celebrate Halloween during school hours (Friday, October 31). There are a variety of ways to celebrate after school hours for those who wish, and the city comes out with a brochure of the many free activities and celebrations on that day. Hope everyone who partakes enjoys a safe and fun Halloween!
Got Yoga Mats?
One of our 2nd grade classrooms is going to start doing yoga on a regular basis and is looking for donations of yoga mats (the ones that roll are best.) If any of you have some gently used yoga mats that you are no longer in need of, we could find a home for them! You can give them to Lissa, the Family Liaison. Thanks for your help!
