Ballroom Dancing
Ballroom Dancing is part of the fifth grade Physical Education curriculum. Each year the fifth grade students in the district take part in this incredible unit, dancing for eight weeks with a professional dance instructor in collaboration with Mr. F (Phil Fousek, our Physical Education teacher). The students learn the waltz, meringue, tango, foxtrot, rumba, salsa, and the electric slide. Starting the week of March 16th, Cambridgeport School 5th graders will begin training for seven weeks, culminating in a Ballroom Dance Spectacular in mid-May at the high school with other elementary schools' 5th graders. Ballroom Dance Spectacular date and partner schools to be announced.
