Do You Have a Child at Home Who Will Be Three Years Old by August 31, 2019?
In order for you to get sibling preference, you MUST register that child for school THIS October. Mary Frawley will be happy to send home an application with the brother/sister. Mary can take that sibling application from October 1st-19th. After the 19th, you will have to take it to the Family Resource Center yourself for the application to be completed. It must be received by October 31st.
- PLEASE DO NOT SEND THE APPLICATION IN WITH
THE STUDENT.
- PLEASE BRING THE COMPLETED APPLICATION TO
THE OFFICE – Mary can take it for you.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask Mary!
Summer Reading Day
Last week ALL LE and UE students left their classrooms to meet up with other students who had read the same book as them over the summer. Students were excited to share their favorite parts and talk about the strong characters that were central to each of our Summer Reading picks. Thanks to Friends of Tobin for providing a book for every student, they were able to participate in a real world book group setting. Each group made a poster about their book which is now hanging in the hallways, enticing students to try some of the other summer reading choices.
What's Happening in Room 283?
Top Left: Natan and Ariele enjoy reading. Bottom Left: Josiah works with the Knobless Cylinders and is proud of his accomplishment. Right: Hannon, Narain and Aliya work with the Sandpaper Letters.
Special Guest
Mr. Reynolds had a very special guest visit his classroom last week. The visitor was his mom Sandra, who is a retired school librarian from upstate New York. She really enjoyed reading to the children – and children and staff enjoyed meeting Mr. Reynolds' mom!

REMINDER FOR SPECIAL START FAMILIES
If you have a child in Special Start, you must register your child in January for kindergarten. Because your child has a spot now in Special Start, does not mean they have a spot in the Tobin Montessori kindergarten.
If you have any questions about this, please let Mary Frawley know.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
When my mother or grandmother tried to keep me from climbing too high, my grandfather would say, "Let the kid walk on the wall. He's got to learn to do things for himself." I loved my grandfather for trusting me so much. His name was Fred McFeely. No wonder I included a lively, elderly man in our television "neighborhood" whom we named "Mr. McFeely."
