Estimadas Familias,
Fue un placer ver a muchos de ustedes durante la Noche de Regreso a la Escuela. Siempre es un evento placentero y espero que la hayan disfrutado también. Si usted no pudo llegar, no se preocupe. Puede ponerse en contacto con el/la profesor/a de su estudiante y ell@s les puede mandar la información compartida con familias.
Quiero tomar un momento para recordarles también que pronto empezará nuestra serie de desarrollo profesional para familias. A partir del 10 de octubre, trabajaremos con capacitadores del Centro de Ética del MIT. Habrá 5 sesiones a lo largo del año durante las cuales veremos cómo debemos ver más allá de nuestras diferencias hacia nuestra humanidad común. Profundizaremos sobre los temas de raza, género, clase y cultura y cómo tales temas afectan a nuestras creencias. Por favor, confirmen su asistencia aquí si pueden asistir a las 5 sesiones. ¡Espero que nos puedan acompañar!
Finalmente, una nota importante de la Enfermera Tamara:
Hola, Familias de Amigos: Casi estamos en el segundo mes de clases y estamos progresando bien. Sé que ha sido un poco desafiante tener todo listo para el nuevo año escolar. Me gustaría enviar un recordatorio amistoso de que si su hij@ tiene una alergia que pone en peligro su vida y necesita un Epi-Pen o si tiene asma y necesita un inhalador, debe traer el medicamento y una nueva orden del médic@ para el año escolar 2018-2019 (todos los medicamentos deben ser actualizados cada año escolar). Esto también ayudará a que la documentación para nuestros paseos sea más fácil. Gracias por su cooperación.

Dear Families,
It was a pleasure seeing many of you during our Back to School Night. It is always a nice event and I hope that you enjoyed it as well. If you couldn’t make it to the event, don’t worry. You can get in touch with your student’s teacher and he/she can send you the information that was provided to families.
I want to take a moment to remind you that our series of professional development for families will be starting soon. Starting on October 10, we will be working with trainers from the Ethics Center at MIT. There will be 5 sessions throughout the year during which we will look at the importance of seeing beyond our differences to our common humanity. We will dig into the topics of race, gender, class and culture and how they affect our belief systems. Please RSVP here if you can attend all 5 sessions. I really hope you can join us!
Finally, an important note from Nurse Tamara:
Hi Amigos Families, We are almost into the second month of school and going strong. I know it's been a little hectic getting everything in place for the new school year. I would like to send a friendly reminder that if your child has a life threatening allergy and needs an Epi-Pen or has asthma and needs an inhaler, you must please bring in the medication and a new doctor’s order for the 2018-2019 school year (every school year medications need to be updated). This will also help the paperwork for our field trips go more smoothly. Thank you for your cooperation.
