3 year old lottery graphicDo You Have a Child at Home Who Will Be Three Years Old by August 31, 2019?
In order for you to get sibling preference, you MUST register that child for school THIS October. Mary Frawley will be happy to send home an application with the brother/sister. Mary can take that sibling application from October 1st-19th. After the 19th, you will have to take it to the Family Resource Center yourself for the application to be completed. It must be received by October 31st.
  • PLEASE DO NOT SEND THE APPLICATION IN WITH
    THE STUDENT.
  • PLEASE BRING THE COMPLETED APPLICATION TO

Fire Station Field Trip
Room 283 went on a field trip to a fire station on Lexington Ave. The children learned about the fire engine and professional firefighting equipment. Everybody received a firefighter helmet and a sticker as a special gift. We would like to thank Ms. Sandra for organizing such a wonderful field trip! Thank you our chaperones for joining us!

Car Wash
Here are a few photos of the hard work of kids and volunteers at last Saturday’s car wash. In total, we raised $1,780, including a generous donation from Cambridge Honda! Thanks to all who came out/scrubbed/baked/got a clean car! Happy camping, upper el!

Special Guest in Room 282
Etta is an alumni student from 282. She went back to her old classroom to share her story. She is now in first grade. Etta did a wonderful job sharing her story with 282 today. She explained all about writer’s workshop and why her sketches didn’t have color...yet! She was so proud to share – and we were so proud of her, too.

When Etta returned to the classroom, I asked her to reflect on her experience in front of the rest of the Room 210 children. (Other first graders listened intently as she described her plan to visit and all the steps she took to make it happen, including writing a letter to Miss Megan and Miss Alissa to figure out a good time to visit. The other first graders are now inspired to do the same.) I asked Etta if the children in her old room had questions and comments for her. "Yes," she answered. In room 210, the questions and comments help the author to add details to her/his story and improve it, and lots of helpful advice is given. I asked Etta if she felt she was getting advice from her old classmates or if she felt that she was teaching them something. "Oh," she beamed, "the second one. I think they were learning about writing from my story."
