Don’t Miss the BIGGEST Fundraiser Event of the Year!
Please join your fellow RAUC parents and caregivers for the BIGGEST fundraising event of the year! We promise you a fun evening of food, drinks and a silent auction on Saturday, Nov. 3rd from 6-10PM on the MIT Campus. This event is organized by the Families of RAUC (FRAUC) to support enrichment and field trips for ALL RAUC students. Our goal is to raise enough funds to provide financial assistance so that all our 8th grade students can participate in the class trip to Washington DC. Funds raised this year also provide a cushion to ensure we can keep the DC trip up for future years! We will also happily receive any items, services, gifts you are willing to donate for our silent auction. Your attendance will help us meet this important goal!

Please purchase your tickets here.

Guest Lunch Servers

First RAUC CommUnity Dance THIS Friday, October 26
This is the first of three dances, each one sponsored by families of a different grade level. It will run from 6 to 8PM in the cafeteria. ALL students are welcome! As a RAUC community event, only RAUC students may attend; no outside guests please. Tickets are $5, going on sale during lunch this week and at the door. Costumes are welcome to our Fall Dance, but please NO Masks or Weapons. Refreshments (pizza, snacks, water) will also be sold at the dance. All proceeds go directly to school enrichment funds through FRAUC.

This first dance is sponsored by 7th grade families but anyone can sign up to help--we need volunteers to help make this dance a success!

Please use the link here to sign up to donate:

  • Goods to sell at the dance concession stand
  • Your time to set up, clean up, collect tickets, sell concessions or supervise the hallways during the dance
Note: Parents do not chaperone the actual dance itself, but you can get a fun view from the periphery if you volunteer your time for one of these jobs!

Teen Mental Health Night at RAUC THIS Friday, October 26
Parents of RAUC students not volunteering at the school dance are encouraged to attend this very informative event while your kids are at the dance downstairs. Happening at the same time as RAUC’s first dance of the year, this event is geared towards parents, guardians, youth workers, teens who work with youth, and anyone else who has love and investment for our youth. Please join us at RAUC on Friday Night, 10/26, 6-8PM in Room A210 for a Mental Health Awareness Night. The keynote speakers are Alice Cohen (CPSD Social and Emotional Learning Lead Teacher) and David G. Stewart, PhD.,(ABPP, Chief of Psychology Department of Psychiatry from CHA and Harvard Medical School). There will be free food! Sign up here!

STEAM it Up! Free Districtwide Event at RAUC THIS Thursday, October 25
Have you ever wanted to hack electronics? Maybe you’d like to create and launch a zipline car? Is biotech your thing? Are you a middle school parent who would like to learn more about our 6-8 Math and Science curriculum? If this sounds like fun and you’d like to spend some great family time eating pizza and learning together, come to the STEAM It Up! event at Rindge Avenue Upper School gym from 6-8PM! If you’d like to be a parent volunteer to help out at the event with food, various tables, etc please let Taraneh Ahmadi ([email protected]) know.
  • Please Note: The district Math Coordinator Julie Ward, along with the new district math coach Katisha John will be at the event to run the Family Math Night.
  • Also present will be the district Science Coordinator Janet MacNeil along with the science instructional coaches Emily Speck and Elizabeth Butler-Everitt. This will be a great opportunity for middle school families to ask questions and experience hands on activities related to these subjects.
  • You can view the flyer here and the Activity Passport here
Shout out to Urban Legends and Mr. DeWitte!
This amazing RAUC drumming core, led by Mr. DeWitte, performed at the Peace of Mind event on the Boston Commons this Saturday. They impressed all with their precision and spirit! Aiming high indeed!

RAUC to Host Courageous Conversations About Race
In support of making our community more equitable and welcoming to all families, we are delighted to host a series of five facilitated conversations on the fourth Thursday of the month starting in January. More information will follow as the date approaches, but if this is of interest, please check out the flyer here and mark your calendar now!

Winter Clothing Donations
Winter is Coming!
As the temperature starts dipping, the buzz around our winter coat closet is getting louder! Students have been accessing the closets and finding jackets to keep them warm. Our thanks to the families that donated items. We are also looking for winter accessories if you have some lying around and not being used. Gloves, beanies, scarves etc in clean condition will be happily accepted. You can send your donations to Family Partnerships Coordinator Taraneh Ahmadi who is currently maintaining the Winter Closet.
