Children's House Curriculum Morning
Please save the date for the following event that will take place in the classroom:

Friday, March 29th | 8AM
Curriculum Morning

Children will get to show what they have been learning in the classroom.

Please Note: If you are bringing any siblings of children, please monitor them at all times. We request you to make sure that the younger siblings do not handle classroom materials. This is to ensure that the environment remains orderly and calm for the children in the class to do their presentations!

Book Fair Wrap Up
THANK YOU to all the volunteers who made the Book Fair happen and all of you who supported the Library by buying books for your family and friends! We received a $400 bonus for spending over $10,000. All our classrooms received gift books from you and the library has increased it's collection with many "just published" books to inspire our students to read even more.

I want to give special thanks to John Little for his help in setting up and taking down as well as filling in all the gaps as a cashier and my other helpers who came for multiple shifts are Ann Kao, Kerry Tanwar, and Brandy Danner. Thanks also to Erin Linthicum, Kristen Michaud, Shane McMahon, Yodit Tekeste, Briney Burley, Caroline Stowell, Cynthia Vallance, Anna Schachter, and Erin Cunningham for helping the students and parents during the fair. Happy reading!

-Ms. Jessica, Librarian

All Children’s House parents are welcome to attend and learn more about the importance of phonemic awareness and how to help their children develop these skills. During the session, you will gain concrete skills and knowledge and also learn about fun activities and games you can play with your children at home!

We Want to Hear from You!
CPS is pleased to launch our 2019 Family Survey. The purpose of this survey is to learn about the experiences of families in our schools and district. It is important to us that all families feel welcomed, and that all students receive the best possible education.

As a district committed to equity, we use survey results to understand whether students and families from all backgrounds are having positive experiences in our schools. Your answers will be completely anonymous and can not be connected to you.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER BY MISTER ROGERS

A few years ago I was asked to be part of a White House meeting about children and television. Many broadcasters from all over the country were there. During my speech, I asked the audience to spend one minute thinking of someone who'd made a difference in the person they had become. As I was leaving that enormous room, I heard something from one of the military guards who was all dressed up in white and gold, looking like a statue. I heard him whisper, "Thanks, Mr. Rogers." So I went over to him and noticed his eyes were moist, and he said, "Well, sir, as I listened to you today, I started to remember my grandfathers's brother. I haven't thought about him in years. I was only seven when he died, but just before that, he gave me his favorite fishing rod. I've been thinking maybe that's why I like to show the kids in my neighborhood all about it" Well, as far as I'm concerned, the major reason for my going to Washington that day was that military guard and nourishing the memory of his great-uncle. What marvelous mysteries we're privileged to be part of! Why would that young man be assigned to guard that particular room on that particular day? Slender threads like that weave this complex fabric of our life together.
