Spring Tea Tea Ceremony

We had a wonderful Spring Tea Ceremony in our classroom today. Prior to the ceremony, children practiced Grace and Courtesy lessons, baked delicious cookies and made fruit kabobs. Every student had a guest, a parent, agrandparent,
a sibling, or ababysitter. Everybody had fun! A big thank you to Rachael who took these beautiful photos.

Author Visit
Children’s book author Ellen Mayer visited all Children's House classrooms to read her stories from the Small Talk Books collection. Ellen's husband Malcolm played a banjo and taught us playful songs. Everybody had fun! Ellen and Malcolm will be returning to Tobin soon to introduce new books.

Ellen Mayer will be doing an interactive math-filled story time at Barnes & Noble in Burlington, MA on Saturday, April 27 from 1-3PM. In addition to the story that she shared with CH classes (Banana for Two) and the one she’ll be returning to share this spring (Clean Up, Up, Up!), she’s also reading her picture book Cake Day. And there will be crafts - making bunnies and cake decorating! Learn more here.

Also, for families with little ones at home, there's a weekday event at Porter Square Books on May 15 at 11AM that includes the illustrator! Learn more here.

Tomassi
Great job Tomasso!
Tomasso, along with his parents, said the the Tobin School Pledge in Italian. Thanks for sharing your language with us!

Singing Festival
Please see below for an exciting opportunity! In addition to the festival tunes, Mr. Reynolds and Mr. Mooney would like to create a small ensemble to feature our Tobin talent! This group would sing a set of songs by themselves at the festival.

The Visual and Performing Arts Department is holding its 1st Annual Singing Festival for students in grades 3-5. The Festival will take place on May 29th at 6:30PM at CRLS. This is an exciting opportunity to join your friends from other Cambridge schools in song. If you are in third, fourth or fifth grade and interested in participating, please let Mr. Reynolds know as soon as possible. His email is: [email protected]
