From the Nurse
If your child has medications that you have left at the nurse's office, they need to be picked up during the last 2 days of school.

A form will be sent home where you can give permission for your child's medicine (only Epi-pens and inhalers) to be picked up by the child and brought home in their backpacks, Otherwise you must come to the office yourself.

If medications are not picked up or sent home with permission they will be discarded.

Looking for Parent Volunteers to Manage Virtual Reality Station

I am looking for parents to volunteer to operate the Virtual Reality (VR) system for MLK students during the library time. What happens is Ms. Varney (the library teacher) does a seat work activity with the class, and sends small groups over to try the VR. Each kid gets to use the VR for two minutes or so while other kids in the group watch.

The parent volunteer's job is to get each kid set up in the headset, show them how to use it, and then swap to the
 next kid.

Last year we had a great time showing them Google Earth, and kids were asking for it again this year.

I was thinking we could meet on Monday June 10th after school, so I can set up the system and show volunteers how to use Google Earth. You need basic computer skills - it is very easy and fun to use!

I put the library class dates and times in the spreadsheet linked here. If you could sign up for one or more of the slots in the spreadsheet to help Ms. Varney demo the system for the kids, that would be great!

Note: MLK school has good wifi, and I have been pretty successful in the past working on my laptop in between classroom engagements.
