Thanks for Supporting Our First Ever Portfolio Breakfast!
We had a great turnout of families (and food!) for our 6th and 7th grade portfolio breakfast last Friday. We know there are areas to improve AND we are delighted to have started the journey! Students worked so hard to prepare, motivated by the awareness that they would have a real audience of peers and families. Your presence sent the important message that their reflection on their learning matters. We were impressed by student willingness to present in front of so many, no small feat. If you did not have a chance to really sit down and look through your student’s portfolio, please be sure to do so--they are worth exploring. If you have any feedback on the experience, feel free to share it with Taraneh Ahmadi or Julie Craven. Teachers will take it into consideration as we reflect on this pilot year at our whole staff meeting the day after school ends. We are ready for an even stronger year 2!
RAUC-on Soccer Stars!
Coach Chris Moore reports below on the results of last Tuesday’s upper school co-ed soccer tournament:
The competition was no match for RAUC Soccer! After winning the first two rounds of the tournament, we then faced off with CSUS for the city championship. It was through cohesion and togetherness that RAUC was victorious over CSUS in the championship, 4-2. Ellie, Danielle, and Junee stood out with a great defensive effort, amongst other 8th grade players that shone: Samuel, Tanmay, Rayn, Edwin, Peter. Also, we can't forget our 7th graders: starting with Jalen Chu who held down the goal, Yosuke, Alexander, Ameir, Josef, and Sal! I am super proud of them!
Return Library Books, Please!
Please look under beds, behind doors, and on bookshelves for any RAUC library books. Thank you!!
Welcome Letters and School Supplies for Next Year!
Teachers are looking forward to welcoming their new students in the fall. Families will receive notification in August when new schedules are available in Aspen. In the meantime, grade level teams have written letters introducing themselves and listing supplies students should come prepared with.

Summer Math and Reading
Reading: Students are all asked to read five books this summer, and they have packets to support that reading. Ms. Musher, our library teacher, has posted reading suggestions by grade on our website. The goal is to choose books you enjoy, and stretch your brain!
Math: Math summer work packets will be distributed to students. You will also be able to find these on our website! Additionally, student will have access to their IXL and ALEKS accounts this summer and can continue working through both online programs.

June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month! To celebrate, our GSA (Genders & Sexualities Alliance) attended Boston Youth Pride at the end of May. We had a joyful day parading around the Common and cheering with our friends from the other CPSD Upper School GSAs. Thanks to all our GSA families for your support all year!
