Message from Manuel J. Fernandez
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Today marks one week since we officially opened the doors to the all new and improved Cambridge Street Upper School. The excitement about this bright and scholar-centered learning center has not waned amidst the final details being applied to the building and grounds. Not a day goes by that a scholar does not share with me how pleased and proud they are to be at CSUS. They love the building the city leaders and our community have built for us. I hope in time every scholar will hold the same affection for the culture of equity, inclusion and success that TEAM CSUS strives to develop for every scholar.

Note from the Librarian
It has taken a few weeks for the library to start feeling like a library, but it's finally on its way! We will open to staff and scholars on Thursday, September 12th. We will host tours of the library for all scholars in the coming weeks so that scholars can learn about the new space including our newly-organized fiction collection that is now, by popular demand, arranged by genres: realistic, sports, thriller, historical, mystery, adventure, science fiction, and fantasy. We have plenty of space for CSUS scholars to collaborate together on group projects and to work or read on their own (in bean bag chairs, if they'd like!). Parents and caregivers are welcome to borrow from our collections, as well. Starting on the 12th, we will be open from 8:20AM - 3:05PM most school days. We look forward to seeing scholars and staff of both of our schools make the library the heart of our communities! Please contact Norah Connolly for more information.

Update from Physical Education
Welcome Back! It has been wonderful to see all of the energetic faces returning from their healthy and active summer vacations. I already know many CSUS families and I welcome those who are new to our community this year. I am Dan Fusco and this is my 19th year teaching in the Cambridge Public Schools. I also coached Girls Basketball at CRLS for 12 years. I’m looking forward to another exciting year in PE, and to claiming titles with our various sports teams.

All City Music Program
Does your upper school child sing or play an instrument? If music is their passion then, the Cambridge Public Schools' All City Music Program is the place to be. Please join us for a Parent Information Session on September 16 at 6:45PM in the CRLS Band Room (0607) to learn more. Students are welcome to attend.
