Who's Who at the King

MorganMorgan Best is Principal Yung’s intern from Harvard University’s Leadership Program. She will be at The King until January 2020.

She comes to us from Raleigh North Carolina where she taught 5thgrade for five years and 2nd grade for two years.

Morgan always thought about making the switch from the classroom to administration. She enjoys interacting with the “whole school”, likes dealing with challenging behaviors and organizational structures and systems.

Inspired by her mother who was a high school teacher with a knack for supporting struggling students, Morgan became a support for some of her struggling peers while she was still in high school. She was often called upon during her senior year to assist in subseperate classrooms.

Her time at King has been a bit of an eye opener. Her previous experiences in education “have been in low income, high needs schools. Of course there are needs everywhere, but the support that staff and families get here is very different.”

Her goal for her time at the King is to learn from all of the “amazing programming and support that is in place here” and to bring those lessons with her on her journey in education.

Puppet Showcase Theatre Presents
Lisa the Wise at the King School

Friday, October 4
Lisa the BraveWhen Lisa, a brave young girl with a heart of gold, meets Baba Yaga, the most famous witch in the woods, an epic battle of wits ensues. Dancing houses, enchanted dolls, and hilarious "ghost servants" bring this classic Russian fairy tale to life with some contemporary twists. Imaginative shadow puppetry lights the way in this hilarious, spooky story about the experiences that make us wise. Recommended for ages 4 and up. Shadow puppets.
The puppet show is sponsored by the MLK Friends.
