Cultural Night 2019
International Night, renamed Multicultural Night, is coming soon – Wednesday, November 6th – and we're looking forward to putting together another year of fantastic Activity Tables. Last year was absolutely amazing. So many Tobin parents and teachers commented positively on the number of volunteers manning Activity Tables and how moving it was to see such diverse cultures proudly shared.
Would you like to be part of this event? If so, please contact [email protected].
Lizzy Rockwell Visit
Children's author/illustrator Lizzy Rockwell came to visit all our Children's House classrooms to share her new book "How Do You Feel?" with students. She led an interactive session reading her new book and encouraging to children to tell the stories that they see in the pictures. Lizzy then showed us her planning books and some of her original art that was used to print the final book. She ended each presentation by drawing a picture of an emotion that a student in the class picked. Each classroom has their own copy of the book as well as a special drawing to keep. Thanks goes to Friends of Tobin for funding and supporting this author visit.
Indigenous Peoples' Day Cypher
TONIGHT!
October 18 | 7-9PM
Join us Friday night on the steps of City Hall for a special addition of the Cambridge Hip-Hop Collective. Featuring acts from Gio Davinci, Mwalim, The ZYG 808, Bodega Bandz, and DJ Nick Lovn.
Come for the Music. Stay for the food.
A Cypher, otherwise known as an impromptu concert, is when a group of artists take turns rapping over a musical backing. The Cambridge Hip-Hop collective hosts their Cypher's monthly in Graffiti Alley in Central Square.
