RAUC Mixes It Up Friday!

We will have our 1st ever Mix It Up at Lunch Day on Friday, Oct. 25th, 2019! This is a time for students to cross social boundaries in positive ways. More than one million other students across the country and around the world are helping to break down social and racial barriers by participating in their annual Mix It Up at Lunch Day that will take place this week. Students will be hearing about this in their SS and ELA classes.

The event, launched by the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Teaching Tolerance project in 2002, encourages students to sit with someone new in the cafeteria for one day, but to incorporate the day into yearlong efforts to promote a healthy school climate. Cafeterias are the focus of Mix It Up because that’s where a school’s social boundaries are most obvious.

Social-Emotional Tip of the Week

When you focus on your student’s efforts in problem solving, you can help them develop a mindset that is ready for growth. Saying things to recognize and complement their hard work when solving problems can help them understand that hard work can lead to success.
