Donations Needed!
It's not too late to donate to the Turkey Trot. Every dollar helps reach our goal!
Tobin Turkey will be in the lobby thanking everyone for their generosity!
Nature Explorers
Room 283 students went on a Nature Walk in our school neighborhood with Ms. Stephanie Budd, the garden coordinator. The science focus of the Nature Walk was What Are the Signs of Fall? The students noticed how leaves were changing colors, how moss covered rocks and tree bark, how acorns fell to the ground. Children became keen observers and nature explorers!

Tobin Turkey Trot: November 27th
As many of you know, last year we worked to revise our annual Turkey Trot event. Our goal was to create an event that worked to strengthen our tight-knit community while simultaneously giving back to the community – through helping those in need.

Computer Science Fun!
The first week of December is Computer Science Education Week, but at Tobin we will be taking more than a week to explore CS in classrooms. Sarah Rosenberg, our Instructional Technology Specialist, has put together a list of whole school objectives for the month:
–To understand that Computer Science is important and fun.
–To break down barriers of intimidation about CS.
–To have the adults in the school to participate in Hour of Code
–To encourage girls and women to take a lead in CS
–To understand that computational thinking is: critical thinking, cross-curricular, problem-solving, learning from our errors and persevering to achieve the desired outcome.
Sarah is interested in working with any parent who has a background in CS and would like to teach a lesson, conduct a workshop, or something similar. Parents (with or without CS experience) can also assist in classrooms. Please contact her at [email protected].
Thank You!
