Turkey Trot Fun

Turkey TrotOn Wednesday, November 27th, the early release day before Thanksgiving break, the Haggerty students had a lot of fun turkey-trotting in the gymnasium with Mr. Materazzo. Students came to the gym for about 45 min, in mixed age groups, to do collaborative games. There was a lot of teamwork, dancing, and giggles.

Mr. Materazzo dressed as a turkey! Thanks to Alice Cohen, former Haggerty parent, for being our DJ for the day! Thanks to Friends of Haggerty for everyone's Turkey Trot Ribbons!

Second Grade Science Morning

Science MorningOur two second grade classrooms had a culminating showcase of their science/social studies unit on December 4th. Families engaged in a variety of stations, lead by their children, focused on Mapping, Continents, Hoodoos, Weathering, Landforms, and Glaciers. Parents/Caregivers were asked, for example, to put the continents in their correct location, to try to create sand by rubbing rocks together, and to create weathering by using a spray bottle on different types of debris. Our second graders worked very hard on all of these interactive displays were informative tour guides. Thanks to all of the parent/caregivers who were able to come and ask questions, and be reminded of their earth and geology knowledge. Thanks also to all the second grade staff for this wonderful morning of sharing the student's learning.

REMINDERS

Please remember to enter out building using the front door on Cushing Street. Please do not knock on the Lawn Street door to be let in. It puts students in an awkward situation, as they are not supposed to let anyone in that door.
