Junior Achievement
HSEP 11th and 12th graders participated in a 7 week Career Success program with Junior Achievement, a New England based organization that helps prepare young people for the real world. Students received certificates of achievement after learning about critical thinking and problem solving, communication, collaboration and teamwork, and creativity and innovation. Junior Achievement will return in the spring to teach the Entrepreneurial program and we look forward to having them back!

Food Lab
Students in “Hacking Awesome,” a year-long elective in the Design Process came up with the idea of a FoodLab at HSEP. Students identified food as something that could be improved upon at HSEP and used the design process of exploring and creating to “hack” our food options.
Students created and designed a food menu, and additionally prepared a luncheon for the HSEP community that included baked penne pasta, a garden salad and vegan brownies.

HSEP Showcase Night
In the second showcase at HSEP 11th and 12th grade students investigated climate change. For this project, students were asked to do academic research about what would happen if the world became five degrees warmer. Students then used the knowledge to write a science fiction work of literature that depicted this world. They then studied marketing strategies and created merchandise using 3D printing technology, laser cutters as well as custom screen printing to promote their story. Students proudly sold their stories and merchandise at the showcase, which was a huge success!
