Reflections from Our Guest Writers
Mollie Richards, Renée Georgette, and Rachel Devlin
We are the special educators here at Cambridgeport. All of us have been here since September of 2014. We work with small groups in our own rooms and also in the large classrooms. We teach lessons in various subjects geared toward the individual needs of each student. Our training includes many research-based multisensory methods and approaches including Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading, Visualizing & Verbalizing, Stern Math, Empower, and LINKS. Multisensory techniques use a combination of different senses (visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic) to help students learn and remember. Completing academic testing for evaluations is also part of our job. Our job is exciting and we enjoy being able to interact with so many different students and educators throughout the building.
