Galentine's Day

Galentines DayCambridge Galentine's Day is the inaugural conference for middle school aged girls and those who identify with girlhood to come together to support each other and build their personal networks. Galentine's Day 2020 is the official celebration on the joys of friendship. An engaging and lively opportunity for participants to experience opportunities available to them as they begin thinking about their future. Through engaging, hands-on activities/workshops young people will learn about possible career paths, hobbies, and people. More details >>

CSUS Flagway

The Young People’s Project invites all families and friends to our Local Tournament this February. We have students throughout the Greater Boston area competing in Flagway to demonstrate the skills they’ve been practicing to achieve speed and accuracy. We’re hoping students will bring the same energy from the classrooms to the tournament in hopes of participating in our National event in Ohio! There will be music, prizes, and so much more. Come witness an experience you won't forget!

Club Band Families

Cambridge has a wonderful opportunity for your scholar to perform with other middle schoolers from around the district! All-City Band meets at CRLS on Wednesday afternoons and they are looking for more players. This is a great chance to meet new people, and perform fun and challenging music. See the flyer attached for more information.

March 5th | 6:30-8PM: Jazz Band and Chamber Ensemble to perform at World Language Night
May 25th: CSUS Band marches in Memorial Day Parade

CPS February Vacation Math Camp

Cambridge Public Schools in collaboration with the Young People's Project will be hosting a Math Camp the week of February Break. From Tuesday 2/18 until Thursday 2/20 students will engage in rigorous, joyful, and culturally responsive math learning investigations aligned to Upper School Mathematics standards and expectations. There is no cost to attend and lunch will be provided. Learn more >>

Coronavirus: Education and Respect

As the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus continues to make headlines, for various reasons, you and your family may have concerns or questions. You may have questions or fears about transmission. You may have concerns about anti-East Asian sentiment and behavior. At RAUC, we are actively trying to address concerns by providing reliable information about the disease, providing safe spaces to discuss how this is affecting our community, and confronting misinformation and hurtful attitudes or behavior. We encourage you to join us in providing reliable information and addressing any hurtful attitudes or behavior in your homes.

2020 Family Survey Available Online

Spring Programs @ Tutoring Plus
Join our Life Science program
Students in 6-8th grade along with volunteers will go on a whirlwind tour of molecular biology and evolution where they will learn about the molecules and processes that make living things alive, in addition to exploring potential career opportunities in medicine, biotechnology, and computer science. Programs run from March 12th- April 16th every Thursday from 5:30-7:15PM. For more information please feel free to email us or call 857.266.2243. Join The Real Talk Program
The Real Talk Program is a one-week program during April break week (4/21-4/24) geared towards middle school students who identify as boys. The one-week program runs from 9am-1pm and will include a series of discussion and activities that focus on the many ways students can show their strength - through discussions, videos and activities students will think critically about gender norms and different ways to show strength. Join our Girls' Media program
An enrichment program for middle school students who identify as girls. The program includes discussions and activities around topics such as: self-confidence, media representation, planning for the future and more! Students would need to submit a completed application by their guardian by March 9th.

Youth Leadership Team
Open to CitySprouts club and summer program alums, this program is for youth who are excited to learn more about science, cooking, and engineering. It is a year-long commitment and is structured to allow youth to develop independent projects in their neighborhoods. The YLT is a vehicle for youth leadership and voice in the community around STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), food systems, and environmental justice. Apply here >>

MIT Shine
We are MIT SHINE, a team of women MIT students looking to help young girls discover their passion for math. Our program is a once-weekly, 2.5 hour session on MIT's campus, during which the girls will dance, play games, and do math one-on-one with a mentor. The SHINE curriculum is flexible and designed to allow girls to work at a level that is appropriate and interesting for them. We have had extremely positive reviews from girls and parents alike, and we hope to grow SHINE even more in the coming semester.
