VLUS Pajama Drive & Celebration
Two VLUS eighth grade student-leaders and Project 351 State Representatives, Wilenchie Francoise and Lily Grodzins, have organized a school and citywide Pajama Drive to help children in need. They have partnered with Cradles to Crayons for their Project 351 community service project to collect new and gently used pajamas for children ages newborn through 12 years old. At the end of the drive, VLUS will end the drive with a Pajama Day Celebration on Friday, March 27. Students are welcome to wear pajamas to school. (No slippers please.)
Donations may be dropped off at Mayor Siddiqui’s Office in City Hall and at the Tobin Montessori and Vassal Lane Upper Schools. Additional drop off sites will be announced later this week via email. For more information about Cradles to Crayons or Project 351 please visit www.cradlestocrayons.org and https://project351.org/.
Children's House Students Collaborate with Boston University Researchers
Recently, an exciting new educational research opportunity was offered by the Boston University Social Learning Lab. Ian Campbell, a Ph. D. student, and the Social Learning Lab have collaborated with the Children’s House for three years to learn more about children’s learning and education. This year, Ian Campbell and his colleagues invite our students to participate in new studies from their lab where children play a number of different educational games. One of the studies, for example, is focusing on how children understand about the authorship of text.

Happy National Nutrition Month!
Did you know that most of the added sugar we consume actually comes from sugary drinks? The sports drinks, energy drinks, sodas, frozen drinks (Coolatas, Slurpees, etc.) and coffee drinks really add up. Focus on milk, fortified milk-alternatives, and tap water for your best health! Small changes can really add up, so start shifting habits today.
