Successful Parent-to-Parent evening meeting
Last Thursday CSUS hosted its first Parent-to-Parent evening meeting. The event provided an opportunity for caregivers to come together as a community, share dilemmas and problem solve as a group, and was a source of engaging conversation and inspiring new ideas! Join the next one on 12/3.
Upcoming Holidays: Veteran’s Day and Diwali
Cambridge Public Schools are closed for all scholars this coming Wednesday, November 11, in recognition of Veteran’s Day. We also wish a Happy Diwali to those in our community who will be celebrating on Saturday November 14!
Finally, do not forget to review this week’s Flexible Work Time assignment grid to see what your scholar will be working on this week!
Stay safe and well, and have a great weekend.
Peace,
Manuel and Christen
CSUS Winter Time Support Drive
Good Evening CSUS Parents and Caregivers, for many families this year has been challenging and difficult, and as we move into the next few months those challenges can become even more of a burden than they currently are. To support scholars and families within our school community that may be in need this winter, the CSUS PCO will be holding a winter time support drive this month.
If you are able and willing to donate to the cause we will be accepting donations via the PCO Website.

Fastbridge Screeners for 6th Grade in November
Scholars across the district, including at CSUS, are being assessed on foundational skills in ELA and Math in the coming weeks to ensure each student is getting the instructional support they need and making adequate progress. These computer-based assessments fall under the umbrella of universal screening and are being administered through a platform called FastBridge.
These assessments will be completed in 6th Grade Reading Classes 11/2 or 11/3, and 6th Grade Math Classes 11/8 or 11/9. Most CSUS scholars have taken these assessments since they were in elementary school, so our returning scholars are familiar with them. Scholar scores will not be part of their grade, but will help us monitor progress over time. Scholars should try their best, but not feel any stress from them.
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
