Message from Manuel J. Fernandez & Christen Sohn
Good evening CSUS Parents and Caregivers,
We hope you are doing well, and that you and your scholars had an enjoyable weekend. Please see the important information below.
Thanksgiving Holiday and Wednesday Half Day
A reminder to all that in observance of Thanksgiving/Native American National Day of Mourning, schools will close at 12:55 on Wednesday November 25 and will remain closed through November 27. Classes will resume on Monday November 30.
No Flex Time Assignments week of 11/23
There will be no Flex Time assignments the week of 11/23 because it is a short/holiday week. We will send the next Flex Time assignment grid in the November 29 Sunday Rundown.
Upcoming Progress Reports
A reminder that Progress Reports will be published to Aspen on Nov 30; we will share detailed instructions about how to view Progress Reports by then. At the end of the quarter, Specialist teachers with quarterly classes will submit final grades; all other teachers will post comments. Beginning 11/30 Specials assignments for Quarter 2 are
- Grade 6 - Art
- Grade 7 - Theatre
- Grade 8 - Health
- Grades 6-8 with Ms. Rosso, Ms. Grant, Ms. Ives, and Ms. Flanagan - Music
If you are interested in using Aspen to monitor your scholar’s progress and work completion, follow these instructions or contact your scholar’s Cobra Den advisor.
Progress Report/Report Card Conferences
Please be advised that November Listening Conferences will be Progress Report/Report Card Conferences. Den advisors will schedule Progress Report Conferences beginning on December 1. The purpose of these listening conferences will be to review any questions, concerns, or other thoughts you have regarding your child’s first quarter Progress Report, and to check in on how your scholar and family are managing during remote teaching and learning.
Stay safe and well, and enjoy next week’s holiday and break.
Peace,
Manuel and Christen
