Greetings!

Dear RAUC families,

Please click the image for a video message from our Principal, Ms. Craven.

As always, if you have any questions or comments about the news or anything else, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me by email at [email protected] or phone at 857.244.0730.  I hope that you can find joy and connection this week even as Thanksgiving may look different this year!

Best,

Julia Ho, RAUC Family Liaison

Grief support

Our hearts remain full as we think of all affected by the loss of a student in our community.  Riverside Community Center is here to support you or your student in facing grief and loss. If anyone is interested in having a 1:1 conversation about the loss, please reach out to Waheeda Saif. Waheeda will then set up a time for you to connect with one of our team members.

Progress Reports

  • You should receive an email by the end of today (Tuesday 12/1) letting you know that First Quarter progress reports are available to view.
  • If you haven’t received that notification or you need support accessing the report, please reach out to our school clerk Ms. Linette Maloney at [email protected] or (617) 349-4060
  • Families who do not have an email address on Aspen: we will be mailing you a hard paper copy.
  • Please note that the second quarter (which began 11/23) ends Friday, February 5th.  You will receive a 1st semester report card at that point.
  • We encourage families to review the progress report and come to the Listening Conference with any questions or concerns.  Your advisor will help you and your student set first semester goals based on the first quarter report.

Listening Conferences

  • The first quarter has ended and we want to hear from you how it has gone. As noted in the last newsletter, you should be hearing from your student’s advisor this week about arranging a Listening Conference. Our goal is to complete these by December 11.
  • If you have not heard from your student’s advisory by the end of the day Wednesday, please reach out to them or let Julia Ho at [email protected] know.
  • If you want to know more why we chose to do listening conferences instead of traditional parent/teacher conferences, please click here.

Reminder: 7th and 8th Grade Families:Pick Up ‘Whiteboards’
front of school

The Math team would like all students to be able to have whiteboards by Dec. 4th so they can start using them in their classes. Teachers have told your students about the whiteboards in classes.

Note: If you came to pick up STEM or Literacy block materials, you should have received these items then.

You can either pick a creative whiteboard and a dry erase marker at the front entrance of the school (see the Green bin in the front left corner if you’re facing the school) anytime Monday-Friday 8-1PM, or you can choose to get your own materials.

If you are unable to pick up items at the school, please contact Family Liaison Julia Ho at [email protected] or 857.244.0730.
