Equity Update

Starting from last month, we have committed to providing an equity update in the second newsletter of every month. Last month, we began our equity updates with a conversation with our school council about why equity matters to us at RAUC and why we are sharing about the work we are doing.

This month, we are focusing on what we’re doing for staff professional development related to equity. Please check out this video update featuring RAUC Literacy Coach Katie Gribben here:

You can also find a written description on our equity website.

Feb. 4th Community Meeting Recording & Resources

Last Thursday, over 100 caregivers (and some students) thoughtfully participated in our February community meeting. The goals of the meeting were to...

  •  Share schedule information for both fully remote and in-person learners
  • Share information specific to each model (e.g. safety measures for in-person learners) and address model-specific questions
  • Get family input on what should be in our orientation for students

Click below for recordings of each section of the meeting:

Click below for materials from the meeting:

We know that many questions may still remain. Please continue to reach out with any questions and look out for more information resources from the district and from our school regarding the expansion of in-person learning. Thank you for your grace and patience as we continue to work out the details of this complicated endeavor!

Social/Emotional Well-being--Tip of the Week

“Even in the best of times, kids crave structure and order. During times of uncertainty, sticking to routines can help students to feel less anxious and worried. Even if that means a few activities that can easily happen every day like taking a walk, reading, or checking-in after school.”
