Dear Families,

We had a successful week back at school with additional students! Students
followed our protocols and were thoughtful and safe. Our upper school students were tested for COVID on Monday and Thursday and everyone came back negative. We will continue this process with upper school students and expand our testing capacity to JK-5.

I encourage families to take advantage of our in-school COVID testing JK-8. It is quick and convenient. Students self-administer a painless nasal swab, which will be supervised by Nurse Tamara and/or our health aide, Nadrine.
You can find more specific information related to student testing and the consent forms here.

This year Friends of Amigos (FOA) will be holding its first ever Health & Wellness Fair on May 1st! We are asking for anyone with expertise in one of
these areas - dance, art, nutrition, mindfulness- that is interested in presenting in either English and/or Spanish to please reach out to FOA by
3/19. We would love to have you host a session and share!

It is that time of year... time for more Amigos “Merch” at Mercado de Amigos!!
If you have been hoping for some new gear maybe an Amigos baseball cap
or some cozy sweatpants, NOW is the perfect time. As before we also have
bags, stickers, popsockets and coffee mugs.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Sarah Bartels-Marrero
Principal

Estimadas Familias,

Sinceramente,

Sarah Bartels-Marrero
Directora

National Nutrition Month:
Lower Cost Healthy Eating!

Did you know that canned fruits, vegetables, and beans are just as healthy as fresh ones? Did you know that frozen fruits and vegetables are good for you, too? Canned and frozen foods are just as good for our bodies, taste great and last longer so you don’t have to worry about them going bad and wasting money! Buy canned vegetables that are low-sodium or have no added salt and canned fruits in light syrup or water for the healthiest options. Buy frozen fruits with no added sugars. Buy frozen vegetables that aren’t in sauces, which are likely to be high in salt and saturated fats. From your friends at Cambridge in Motion, a program of the Cambridge Public Health Department, in collaboration with CPS Food & Nutrition Services.
