Letter to Caregivers

Dear CSUS Parents and Caregivers,

Please see below for updates and reminders for the coming week at Cambridge Street.

Full-Time In-Person Learning This Spring
CSUS is expected to begin offering full-time, five day a week in-person learning to scholars beginning Wednesday, April 28. We are working hard to adapt a schedule that will accommodate an increase in in-person learners and also meet the needs of scholars continuing to learn remotely through the end of the school year. We will share updates and expectations with scholars and families as they are available in the coming weeks. If you have questions about the April 28 transition please contact Ms. Robinson or Mr. Adams. You can also call the CSUS Main Office at 617.349.3050.

Upcoming religious holidays and no school next Friday, April 2
In the coming week many in our community may celebrate the Jewish holiday of Passover or the Christian holiday of Easter. In two weeks our Muslim community will begin the observence of Ramadan. We recognize the challenge that comes with observing these important elements of our religious and social lives during a pandemic that forces us to social distance. These holidays are such a critical aspect of our family and community bonds. Hopefully, all of us can find solace in the optimism that comes with increased in-person learning and the vaccine roll-out. We wish everyone peace, joy, and connection during this special time.

Please note that in observance of Good Friday there will be no school this coming Friday, April 2. Weekly assignments will be adjusted accordingly.

As always, thank you for entrusting Cambridge Street with your scholar’s learning. We understand that you have choices regarding your child’s education, and we appreciate you choosing CSUS.

Peace,
Manuel and Christen

Just Eats Grocery Boxes

Many of our families are missing our monthly school-based School Markets and so are we!! To help us out, our partners at Food For Free are offering food boxes for families at 4 of the school Market sites. We are offering these free boxes to our free lunch families and they will be available at lunch pick-up sites twice a month. We are trying to figure out our numbers for distribution, so we NEED FAMILIES TO SIGN UP! Sign up here >>

The boxes have fruits and veggies, as well as a grain (such as rice) and a protein (such as beans). They are heavy (approximately 30 pounds a piece) so you will need a car or a cart to bring them home. You can sign-up for the site closest to your house!

Note: These boxes are also distributed at Walden Square, Newtowne Court, Roosevelt Towers and 808-812 Memorial Drive. Please contact your Residential Service Provider if you would like to pick-up there.
