Welcome from the Family Liaison
Things are warming up! Keep an eye out for outdoor events that will continue to become available. It’s also time to start thinking about summer. Although we still have not heard from all of our community partners and programs about in-person summer programs, included here is a list of all the programs that have stated that they WILL have in-person summer programming. Please keep watching for announcements about other programs.
We are excited that we have another group of students joining us in-person. If you have any questions about in-person health and safety please reach out! We are also in the process of planning a GREAT community event for May 20th called Family Cooks! This is a virtual event for ALL KLO families. There are details in this newsletter.
As always, if you need help with basic resources (food, clothing, housing, etc.) please let me know and I will do my best to help! I can also help with referrals for legal, mental health, financial assistance and many other things. Feel free to contact me via email at [email protected] or call or text to 857.529.0346.

Save the date!
Most years we have a Multicultural Night with a big potluck in May. Since we can’t have families come in to the school we’re bringing the meal to your kitchens! On May 20th we will be holding a Family Cooks! event for all KLO families. You can pick a dish to make, receive a meal kit with a recipe and all the ingredients, and then we will all make dishes together via Zoom. We need families to sign-up so we can make and distribute the meal kits so keep an eye out for the invitation.

- Bus Transportation: New Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) guidance allows 2 students per bench with 100% masking and all windows open. This could happen as early as April 5th. see C14.Transportation Procedure in the Safety and Facilities Manual for more details.
- Travel Guidelines: Non-vaccinated students and staff are still encouraged to follow the Interstate travel guidelines. International travel is still restricted. See the online Health Checklist for more details.
