Letter to Caregivers

Dear CSUS Parents and Caregivers,

Please see below for important updates for our families of in-person and remote scholars.

Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This month in Advisories, scholars and staff are engaging in activities that recognize the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

8th Grade Graduation
This week Grade 8 families should have received an email containing the Save the Date for this year's Eighth Grade Graduation. It will take place on June 16th at 3:30. Additional details to follow. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Robinson.

Congratulations Ms. Schwarz!
CSUS is excited to announce that Ms. Kendal Schwarz will assume the role of our building-wide Mathematics Coach/Interventionist while Marisa Berenbaum is on family leave.

MCAS
Below is CSUS’ schedule for MCAS testing, which will begin next week.

 Grade(s)
 Date(s)
 Grade 6
 May 27/28
 Grade 7
 June 1/2
 Grade 8
 June 2/ 3 / 4

We will continue to share information and expectations with both in-person and remote families as needed in the coming days. Remote families, please look for an email early next week with instructions for how your child will participate in the MCAS remotely. We will share steps for readying your scholar’s laptop and preparing their testing space as well.

Listening conferences
CSUS will host Listening Conferences for caregivers the week of June 7. One of your scholar’s teachers will reach out with options for how to connect and share feedback regarding your child’s experiences in the fourth academic quarter and this school year overall. You will have the opportunity to meet one of your child’s teachers or complete a feedback survey.

Congratulations Cast and Crew
Congratulations to the cast and crew of this year’s CSUS Play: 10 Ways to Survive Life in a Quarantine. Many thanks to Ms. Becky Smith and the other members of CSUS staff who supported our scholars in making this fully remote production a success!

As always, thank you for entrusting Cambridge Street with your scholar’s learning.  We understand that you have choices regarding your child’s education, and we appreciate you choosing CSUS.

Peace,
Manuel and Christen
