Tobin Snapshots: Spring in Room 282
Our students have been working hard all year. When looking at these slides you can see how “normalized” the classroom is.
Maria Montessori said, “The greatest sign of success for a teacher... is to be able to say, 'The children are now working as if I did not exist.'"

How Far Can Tobin Go?
This week is the last week to record steps for the step counting challenge! Tobin has come a LONG way, although we need YOUR help to go the extra mile! Record your steps at home using the Google Form attached on this website.
Staff & families can accept this challenge too! Staff may record under "Staff," and families and may record under their student's classroom number.
Happy Steps!!

Attention 5th Graders
We have put some things together for your 5th grade students as part of the transition process to VLUS:
VIDEO – Here is the video Matt and I did to walk through the things we usually would have done in person.
FORM – Here is the form for all rising 6th graders to complete; it has a space to let us know if they're not coming and also spaces for World Language and Music choices.
FAMILY INFO NIGHT – We are hosting a Zoom session for rising 6th grade families (and kids) at 7PM on Wednesday, June 2 to introduce ourselves to families and to walk through a lot of the same info that's in the video. Check email to find Zoom link.
Tobin Snapshots: The Hundred
Room 283 Kindergarteners enjoy arranging the number tiles and exploring the Hundred Board. The Hundred Board is a traditional Montessori math material that provides a hands-on approach and reinforces the understanding of numbers from 1 to 100. The Hundred Board is beneficial for number recognition, counting, number sequencing, patterning and other activities.

Tobin Snapshots: In the Garden
Room 283 students always enjoy working with Gardener Heather in the school garden. Recently, Gardener Heather explained how to use fresh garden chives and some heavy cream to make chive butter. All the children made their own delicious chive butter and tasted it with crackers.
Photos: Gardener Heather shows where chives grow; Elin is shaking a plastic bag to turn heavy cream into butter; Remi and Rio are tasting; Momoka likes chive butter very much!
Tobin Snapshots: Room 284
Room 284 students have been busy this past month. Annabel is learning her shapes and added a bit of painting to her work.
The preschoolers, Sophianna, Ellie, Aliyah, and Charlotte are showing that they can sort pictures with the m and s sounds.
The JK and K students have been studying poetry over the past few weeks. They read the poem "What is Pink?" By Christina Rossetti and worked together to create their own similar poem. See poem >>
