Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that we only have 16 more days of school!! As this challenging year comes to an end, I know that a lot of you are already thinking about next year. I definitely don’t have all the answers to your questions but I can share what I know now - all subject to change since there are frequent updates/changes being made by the CDC, Governor Baker and the City of Cambridge as well as new virus variants and vaccine advances. All of these will impact what next year looks like.
At this point in time, I am planning for a full-return to in-person learning at Amigos. We have not been asked to prepare for an Amigos-based remote option. The state announced yesterday that physical distancing should be lifted. There may continue to be additional health protocols in place such as extra hygiene and masking. It is important to understand that our goal is the safety and security of all students and staff. We have a diverse group of stakeholders who have varying opinions on what next year should look like and we hope that all members of our community understand that as we work towards reopening.

¡¡Es difícil de creer que sólo nos quedan 16 días de escuela!! Como este año desafiante llega a su fin, sé que muchos de ustedes ya están pensando en el próximo año. Definitivamente no tengo todas las respuestas a sus preguntas pero puedo compartir lo que sé ahora - todo sujeto a cambios ya que hay actualizaciones frecuentes / cambios que se hacen por el CDC, el gobernador Baker y la ciudad de Cambridge, así como las nuevas variantes del virus y avances con la vacuna. Todo ello impactará en el próximo año.
En este momento, estoy planeando un regreso completo al aprendizaje presencial en Amigos. No se nos ha pedido que nos preparemos para una opción remota basada en Amigos. El Estado/DESE anunció ayer el cese del distanciamiento físico. Es posible que se sigan aplicando protocolos adicionales de salud, como la higiene adicional y el uso de mascarillas. Es importante entender que nuestro objetivo es la seguridad de todos l@s estudiantes y del personal. Tenemos un grupo diverso de partes interesadas
que tienen diversas opiniones sobre cómo debería ser el próximo año y esperamos que todos los miembros de nuestra comunidad lo entiendan mientras trabajamos para la reapertura.

Instrument Drop Off
Instruments must be returned to school from Monday, June 7th through Wednesday, June 16th.
Instrumental class will be asynchronous beginning on June 7th so that teachers can repair and organize all the instruments.
