CSUS Hispanic Heritage Potluck
Good evening Cambridge Street Caregivers, you may have seen on our calendar that this Thursday, October 14th we planned to celebrate the end of Hispanic Heritage month with our usual Hispanic Heritage Potluck. This event has been a staple at Cambridge Street and we were eager to bring it back this year if we were able. Due to COVID related safety concerns as well as strict guidelines surrounding gatherings where food will be shared we will have to reinvision this year's celebration. We are saddened by this and will look into different ways for our school community to come together again in the future. There will be no potluck this Thursday.
Scholars at the Cambridge Street Upper School will be engaging in activities to uplift and celebrate Hispanic Heritage during this week’s advisory period. We are looking forward to sharing their work with you.
Student Vaccination Update
Good Evening Cambridge Street Upper School Caregivers,
Just to clarify the messages you may have received regarding Student Vaccination requirements. By November 29th, 2021, Age-eligible students (currently ages 12+) must be fully vaccinated in order to participate in CPS after school extracurricular activities, including athletics, club and intramural sports, student government, afterschool visual and performing arts, all school clubs that meet out of the school day, and school sponsored social events. Given vaccination dosage requirements, meeting the November 29 deadline, means students must receive their first dose no later than October 25 and their second dose no later than November 15. We strongly encourage you to make plans for your child to receive their vaccination as soon as possible. If you have any questions please reach out to Mr. Adams or Ms. Howard.

Play Auditions Coming Soon!
Come to the school play information session 3-4:15PM on Wednesday, October 13th in the auditorium. There you'll learn more about this year's show and scripts, characters, and how to sign up to audition or join stage crew. Caregivers are welcome to join the info session virtually, email Ms. Smith for the link. Auditions will be Tuesday, October 19th - sign up for a slot on the callboard outside the Drama Room, 1265. All are welcome and no experience necessary. See or email Ms. Smith if you have any questions!

The Work Force is a comprehensive after-school educational enrichment, college readiness, and work- readiness program for Cambridge public housing youth.

Attention Caregivers of Band and Orchestra Scholars!
Please complete the CPSD Instrument Loan Form as soon as possible. This form allows your scholar to take their instrument home, and helps us keep track of our instrument inventory!

After-School Clubs
Welcome to the CSUS After-School Clubs and Sports Program. We are pleased to offer a variety of exciting activities. All clubs will run from 3:15 to 4:15PM. They will occur on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, when late buses are available, beginning the week of October 12th.
The late bus and all clubs are free and available to everyone. I hope you take advantage and enjoy these offerings!
