Kindness Rocks! During this season of giving, students in Room 109 (Ms. Brittany and Ms. Jess) have been focusing on the act of kindness. Children designed their own "kindness rock" with paints and rock tattoos. Some rocks were planted around local neighborhoods during the Thanksgiving break, and some rocks will be given as gifts from students to their loved ones to spread holiday cheer and kindness!
Winter Coat Giveaway
We are delighted to announce that for a second year in a row, Cambridge Public Schools and The Spot will be rolling into your neighborhood on the Yellow School Bus on Saturday, December 11th to give away children’s winter coats (sizes 4-12).
The bus will arrive at the following times and be at the school for about 45 minutes.
• King Open/Cambridge Street Upper School: 10AM
• Fletcher Maynard Academy: 11AM
• Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School: 12PM
• Peabody School: 1PM
We would like to express our appreciation to everyone who donated to this cause. Events such as these support many of our families. If your child is in need of a coat, please stop by.
Questions? Contact your child’s family liaison.

Creating a map of the continents was a fascinating and exciting experience for Children's House 3 Kindergarteners. First, we all learned a song about the continents and oceans and explored the map of the continents from the Geography Cabinet. Then the students traced and push-pinned the shapes of two hemispheres and seven continents. The next step was to assemble the map and to glue all the shapes correctly.
The maps are on the display on the classroom bulletin board - please come and see this project!

VLUS Triad White Caregivers Working Toward Anti-Racism
Hello G&P, Haggerty, Tobin, and VLUS Families,
Please join a monthly affinity group for VLUS Triad White Caregivers Working Toward Anti-Racism.
The affinity group will read and discuss various texts throughout the year in order to address our own unconscious biases and to take an active role in fighting white supremacy in our schools, communities, and ourselves.
There will be reading to complete before each session, and families are strongly encouraged to make a commitment to attend as many sessions as possible.
