Winter Session Clubs Dates & Vaccine Requirement Reminder

This week marks the last week of our fall clubs. The next cycle of clubs will be from January 4 until March 11. Students will have an opportunity to sign up for clubs next Wednesday, December 15th during advisory. Please look out for more information in next week’s newsletter about winter club choices.

Vaccine IconAs a reminder, students must be fully vaccinated and submit proof of vaccination to the school in order to participate in any school-based after school programs. You can still submit proof of vaccination (e.g. a picture of a vaccine card) online through the family portal OR by emailing our school clerk a picture of your student’s vaccination card.

COVID-19 and Flu Vaccine Clinic - Wednesday, Dec. 15

Vaccine ClinicCPHD is hosting a 3rd vaccine clinic next Wednesday, December 15 at CRLS.

  • Appointments are required. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
  • Anyone 5 and older can receive their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. This clinic cannot accommodate those who need their second dose.
  • Booster Vaccines will not be available.
  • FluMist will be available to people ages 2 to 49 at the Dec. 15 clinic who have an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine.

**A follow-up clinic will be held on Wednesday, January 5 to provide the second dose of vaccine to children and adults who received their first dose at the December 15 clinic.**

Reminder: Families of RAUC (FRAUC) Staff Appreciation Days

Staff Appreciation DaysAs the New Year approaches, families of RAUC (FRAUC) would like to take some time to tell our staff at RAUC how much we appreciate everything they do. FRAUC is organizing 2 “comfort food” staff appreciation days: Friday, December 10 and Wednesday, December 22. Please sign up here to contribute baked goods, thank-you cards, or money to cover food!

Winter Coat Giveaway THIS Saturday, December 11

(Amharic | Arabic | Bengali | Haitian Creole | Spanish)

Winter Coat GiveawayFor the second year in a row, Cambridge Public Schools and The Spot will be rolling into your neighborhood on the Yellow School Bus on Saturday, December 11th to give away children’s winter coats (sizes 4-12).

The bus will arrive at the following times and be at the school for about 45 minutes.

  • King Open/Cambridge Street Upper School: 10AM
  • Fletcher Maynard Academy: 11AM
  • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School: 12PM
  • Peabody School: 1PM

A special thanks to everyone who donated to this cause. Events such as these support many of our families. If your child is in need of a coat, please stop by!

Student Council Corner: Holiday Food Drive

Holiday Food DriveThe RAUC student council is organizing a giving drive with all proceeds going to Arlington Eats, an organization that provides meals and other necessities to people in need. We’re asking for a variety of donations including non perishable food items and toiletries. We hope to reach our goal of 100 items donated. Click here for more details. Donations will be accepted starting on Mon December 13 until Wed December 22. Thanks for your participation!
